Obscure kitsch aficionado Quentin Tarantino is guest-directing tonight's Jimmy Kimmel Live.

Apparently, he'll do anything to promote Kill Bill Vol. 2. Last week, he was a guest judge on American Idol, and somehow Simon Cowell escaped a graphic buggering to a catchy 70s tune mangled by a pitchy karaoke singer.

On most nights, we'd rather reprise the ear-slicing scene from Reservoir Dogs than sit through an hour of Kimmel. Maybe tonight we'll get lucky and it'll be Kimmel whose ears bleed as musical guest The Darkness covers "Stuck in the Middle With You."

I thought retailers typically slashed prices before Christmas, but these are hard times and now they’re going after the folks who couldn’t afford those ghastly prices to begin with. It’s a win-win situation for retailers, but we’re getting screwed as usual.

The KeepOn, if you recall, is a tiny robot that dances in time to music and cuddles. It was made as part of the CareBots initiative to design robots that for special needs patients. This little $40 robot isn’t as smart as the original KeepOn but it is still pretty cool.
