Mel Gibson is throwing some of his Passion of the Christ cash into developing a movie about Boudica, a female warrior who led Britain against the Roman Empire and was named Britain's first queen after her death, according to Variety. There are at least three other Boudica films in development at different studios.

Says producer Gavin O'Connor, who is developing the Warrior script with Gibson:

"What drew me is that she was driven by personal revenge," O'Connor said. "Her goals were never political and never went beyond avenging her slain husband and child. She managed to bring together all of these warring tribes to stand against the Roman Empire. It is a masculine story with a female point of view."

Yes, kids, it is indeed "Braveheart with ovaries." And Romans.
