In 2007, Kristin Cavallari described Laguna Beach, the town where she attended high school, as “so small and artsy and old.” She told GQ:

Laguna Beach is so small and artsy and old. All of a sudden, MTV comes in and corrupts it. Now there are Laguna Beach tours of the restaurants and clothing store we would go to.

It’s funny how sometimes things happen quickly, and sometimes they don’t.
