At the beginning of football season, Kristin Cavallari promised to post a new “tailgating recipe” on the Official Kristin Cavallari App for iPhone and Android each week for a month. Her wild scam ends today.

For the last three weeks, Kristin has attempted to charge app users for tailgating recipes she’s already provided elsewhere for free. Last week, she posted a “spinach-artichoke dip” tailgating recipe on the app, marking it as exclusive content.

Kristin’s exclusive content costs users $2.99—per month.

Funny, then, that Kristin also “exclusively” provided this spinach-artichoke dip recipe to Us Weekly last week. (Unlike the Official Kristin Cavallari App for iPhone and Android, Us Weekly is a publication that is free to read online.)

The week before that, Kristin posted a “bacon-wrapped butternut squash” tailgating recipe on her app, which she also marked as exclusive content. That exact recipe is currently available in a YouTube video Kristin filmed for The Frisky last year.

The week before that, Kristin posted a tailgating recipe for “stuffed jalapeños.” She charged her followers $2.99 to view it. But like the bacon-wrapped butternut squash recipe, Kristin had already released it to the public, for free, via YouTube.

How many users coughed up three dollars to read these recipes, mistakenly thinking they were accessing content that was only available on the Official Kristin Cavallari App for iPhone and Android?

It’s impossible to say. One or two, at least.

Though Kristin is no longer actively engaging in football-themed recipe fraud, she did post a recipe—one for “sweet potato rolls”—today on the app. Instead of designating it “tailgating recipe,” she called it “The Perfect Fall Recipe.”

It costs $2.99 to view.
