A Knife-Wielding Homeless Man Threatened to Kill Michael Strahan
What do you think of when you think of Michael Strahan? Hmm. Football legend? Charming, attractive co-host of Live! With Kelly and Michael who provides the sexual tension necessary to keep the top-of-the-show smalltalk interesting? Man you want to stab? Which one?
According to the New York Post, a knife-wielding homeless man was arrested outside of ABC Studios in Times Square yesterday after threatening to "kill Michael Strahan" in an argument with a security guard. From Page Six:
Andre Johnson, 25, pulled the knife and made threatening remarks about Strahan, the New York Giants football legend and part-time co-host of "Good Morning America," during an argument with a security guard near the show's sidewalk-side set at around 8 a.m., according to the sources.
A police officer working security detail for the network quickly intervened and knocked the blade from Johnson's hand.
He was detained by police and, when questioned, restated: "I was there to kill Michael Strahan." (Though, he did not give a reason. Too charming, maybe? Doesn't like when he sweetly pulls out Kelly's chair for her every morning? I don't know. Suits too well-fitted?) A spokesperson for ABC News spoke to the Post about the situation, saying that the police officer "heroically tackled" Johnson, and that most of the surrounding audience wasn't even aware of his threat:
"It was a scary situation but thanks to the fast actions of NYPD the situation was quickly under control."
Johnson was charged with "attempted assault as a felony, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon" and, due to a number of out-of-state warrants, will likely be held without bail.
