Benedict Cumberbatch to Voice Shere Khan in the Other New Jungle Book
Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast as the voice of Shere Khan in an upcoming adaptation of the Jungle Book. You might be thinking, "Hasn't Idris Elba already been cast as the voice of Shere Khan in the upcoming adaptation of the Jungle Book?" And the answer is yes! This is another one!
This adaptation, for Warner Bros.—not Jon Favreau's adaptation for Disney, with Bill Murray, Scarlett Johansson, Christopher Walken, and Ben Kingsley—will be released in October, 2016 and mark Andy Serkis's directorial debut. It is said to be darker and more live-action oriented than Disney's, which is something.
So, which to choose? Idris Elba's Shere Khan, or Benedict Cumberbatch's? Hmm. You know, it just doesn't feel right to make this decision without appropriately weighing all the info first, so if either party would like to take me on a romantic vacation and make their case I am more than willing to hear him out.
