Should I be watching Parenthood? I was even though it's kind of schmaltzy, but I've missed this entire season. Not reading the other comments so as to avoid spoilers.
I watch it and ask myself this after every episode. My answer is no and when's the next one available on Hulu.
For all its schmaltz, it's still good. Do I find it annoying that I cry during the music montage in every fucking episode? Yes. But is it nice to see a show handle some of the more difficult topics in life with some grace and damn fine writing? Yes, absolutely.
Jason Katims is a treasure. And I'll look over schmaltz to consume most anything he touches.
Some of the story lines are so good. The acting is fantastic. Just some of the "very special episode" huggytime endings make me feel embarrassed for myself.
I find this whole Julia and Joel thing pretty upsetting. Mostly because it's made me realize Roy from The Office is pretty sexy.
I hadn't realized he was Roy. Though I saw every episode of The Office, I recognized him from the short-lived Traffic Light.
Some spoiler, sometime back predicted Joel and Julia's marriage would be tested, but I think everyone thought it would be Joel.
Love the show — mostly — from the start (there, I said it) but hate the whole Julia/Ed adultery thing because it's so disappointing (Julia!) and so predictable (Parenthood!).
