Former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model and current gentle soul Christie Brinkley posted a disturbing collage of photos to Instagram yesterday from Parrot Cay in Turks and Caicos, where she had "an accident trying to save a bird." What exactly happened with this bird is not yet known.

"We interrupt this holiday to take a little unplanned excursion to Miami for cat scans and stitches following an accident trying to save a bird," Christie wrote in the caption to the collage above. "My grateful heartfelt thanks go out to our wonderful Parrot Cay Family who got me to the boat and plane, and my friends in Miami who found my A Team at University of Miami Hospital led by Dr Askari and his professional caring and adorable team and to my bestie who spent her much needed and deserved holiday by my bedside .. I ca't [sic] possibly thank you enough and I offer you a pain check .. I mean rain check! Lol!"

She added the hashtags #grateful #thankful #itcouldhavebeenworse! #youneverknow and #liveeachday to her post.

It could have been worse!

Did this bird (a parrot from the Cay?) attack Christie Brinkley? I swear to god I will find it and...save it, I guess, since that is what Christie originally wanted.

Thankfully, Christie is now back in birdland recuperating. She wrote on Instagram:

I'm back in Parrot Cay and is it my imagination ( or the bump on my head ? ) that has me seeing the clouds as B A E đŸ’™ (before anything Else) which is reserved for very special sweet people like all of you who wrote such kind well wishes...I think this sunset is for all of Y O U! Thank you BAE!

That's not what bae means, but that's okay. (Christie may be suffering from severe brain damage.) The world is Christie's bae. Thank you BAE!
