There are certain things we all know about Michael Jackson. The moonwalk, for one. His large catalogue of very good songs, and then also Weird Al Yankovic's catalogue of very good Michael Jackson song parodies, for another. We know that he was friends, in a way, with Macaulay Culkin—etc., etc. But there is one thing I bet almost none of us know about Michael Jackson, and that is: he was perfect at prank phone calls.

In a fairly bonkers interview with the Guardian—which I suppose I recommend reading in its entirety, though, really, you only get one life and I don't know if that's how you want to spend it—make your own decision—Russell Crowe casually mentions the incredible prank call-exclusive relationship he had with the late Michael Jackson:

"For two or three fucking years," he says. "I never met him, never shook his hand, but he found out the name I stayed in hotels under, so it didn't matter where I was, he'd ring up do this kind of thing, like you did when you were 10, you know. 'Is Mr Wall there? Is Mrs Wall there? Are there any Walls there? Then what's holding the roof up? Ha ha.' You're supposed to grow out of doing that, right?"

Grow out of what, exactly, Russell Crowe? Amazing jokes? Not sure why you would want to grow out of telling amazing jokes—the color green does not look good on you, my friend.

CBS points out this is not the first time Crowe has mentioned MJ's prank calls, speaking to the Sun in 2013:

"He'd ring me and in a strong voice and say, 'There is an emergency and you need to leave the building.' I'd ask, 'Who is this?' And he'd say, 'Do not worry Russell, just kidding, this is Michael.'"

Do not worry Russell, just kidding, this is Michael.

Perfect.

Maybe take his advice and do not worry about the prank calls Michael Jackson tortured you with for two or three years, Russell. And anyway—are there any Walls there? ;)
