The sharks are coming to New York City.

After months of "tense" negotiations with has-beens—during which Syfy considered hiring a whole new cast because who gives a shit?—Ian Ziering and Tara Reid have officially signed on for Sharknado 2: The Second One. But Ziering and Reid won't be battling these sharks with weedwackers and chainsaws in Los Angeles. The new film, which will surely be as awful as the first, is headed for the east coast:

In Sharknado 2, a freak weather system turns its deadly fury on New York City, unleashing a "sharknado" on the city's population and its most iconic sites, with Fin and April the only ones able to save the city.

According to Thomas Vitale, the network's chief of programming and original features, Syfy is very excited about the new film. And Vitale harnesses the incredible power of wordplay to express that excitement: "Sharknado was an extraordinary 'perfect storm' which captured the attention of movie fans across the globe," he said. "By reassembling the creative team – and dropping sharks onto New York's iconic sites – we're unleashing yet another 'fin' wave of shark-mania."

The Syfy movie is scheduled to begin filming in New York City Feb. 13 and will dominate your Twitter feed for 24 hours one day in July.
