NBC shared a bit of exciting news for Allison Williams this morning, announcing that the Girls star would take on the role of Peter Pan in NBC's live Peter Pan telecast on December 4. What a day for Allison Williams!

"I have wanted to play Peter Pan since I was about three years old, so this is a dream come true," Allison Williams said in a statement.

Allison Williams, born to two hard-working journalists in 1988, has spent more than two decades dreaming this particular dream, turning it over in her mind, chasing it through college, stealing away from work and drudgery to revisit it. She could hardly sleep last night knowing NBC would break the news this morning. Her smile lit up her bedroom until well past midnight, holding her fiancé back from sleep in a way that warmed him rather than frustrated him, his eyelids sagging against his own eager grin. Neither said a word against the buzzing, eager silence. "Even in its muggy darkness, I always love the morning," Williams thought as she drifted to sleep.

Dreams, children—they do come true, for you as for Allison Williams.
