As any Gilmore Girls fan knows, Dean is boring and dumb and Jess is hot and great. Do Dean and Jess know this themselves? Yes. Well—one of them does.

While in Austin, Texas for a Gilmore Girls panel at the ATX TV Festival over the weekend, Jared Padalecki and Milo Ventimiglia—Dean and Jess, respectively—took sides in the Dean vs. Jess debate. Padalecki—AKA Dean—horrible Dean—Dean, who I hate—is correct, surprisingly. From Us Weekly:

“I’m team Jess. I admit it. I even told Milo. I’m totally team Jess.”

Huh. A correct opinion from Dean, who I hate. Who knew. Ventimiglia—AKA Jess—Jess, who I love—Jess who reads books and is a bad boy with a rude attitude but it’s okay because he’s smart and likes Rory—is wrong about who Rory should have ended up with, surprisingly:

“Oh, man, I have no idea. ... I’ve been vocal about being team Dean, so maybe she should have gone way back around to the very beginning. That would have been nice.”

Huh. An incorrect opinion from Jess, a rebel known for his questionable decision making, who I love.

I guess it is true what they say: “Dean sucks.”
