Jimmy Fallon will take over as host of The Tonight Show Monday night, but we should always remember that in 1998, he was just a young 24-year-old trying out for Saturday Night Live and making Lorne Michaels laugh with his Adam Sandler impersonations.

This audition tape—along with Fallon's modeling pics—resurfaces every few years, so it's nothing new. But considering it's Fallon's big day, it's worth revisiting if only to remember that Alanis Morissette and The Wallflowers were once impression-worthy.

Will Smith and U2, also throwbacks to the year 1998, will be Fallon's first guests tonight.
