I don't know how the show will play, but if they give each week's episode the serial novel treatment for an e-book, it sounds like a brilliant marketing move. I don't have any numbers about the success of SyFy's Defiance video game, but this is a little different and if packaged properly, it could generate recurring revenue.
Wow. Just think what they could be done with The Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew.

This is the worst idea... Octavia Spencer is no Angela Lansbury (who is a legendary actress) and it's highly doubtful that she could carry this series... Let's all remember her most significant role prior to The Help (which she played herself in - her best friend wrote the role for her) in DINNER FOR SCHMUCKS... There are so many amazing Black Actresses who actually deserve the roles that this woman is stealing from them ONLY because of that gold naked man she won for portraying herself.
Truth. She is one character actor who never should have escaped that box.
This is brilliant.
