Paul Reubens Announces New Judd Apatow-Produced Pee-Wee Movie
On last night's Tonight Show, Paul Reubens confirmed the years-old rumor that he'll be returning to his Pee-wee Herman character for a new feature length film.
"There is going to be [a movie]. And I was hoping I could make this huge announcement tonight, but it's a week away, I think, from being announced," Reubens explained, in a way that makes you unsure about whether or not he was telling a joke.
According to Reubens, the movie will start production in February, will be produced by Judd Apatow, and has a director lined up—though he couldn't reveal who that is quite yet.
As far as old things being dug up and half-heartedly polished in order to make new money out of them goes, a new Pee-wee Herman movie doesn't sound half bad. Right? Right or wrong?
At the very least, I hope this means we're close to Pee-Wee's Playhouse coming to Netflix Instant.
Love you, Pee-wee! Bye!
