Possible Major Plot Details Revealed for True Detective Season Two
Last week, we came the closest yet to getting a concrete detail about True Detective's heavily-rumored-about second season with the report that Colin Farrell was in talks to sign on as one of four leads. Today, a few (possible) major plot details have emerged.
The details come from The Playlist via Film Divider, a relatively new blog that The Playlist believes has a good enough reputation to allow them to feel comfortable sharing their maybe-scoop. The details could be spoilers, so don't read on if you'd rather keep it fresh! From Film Divider:
The new mystery is to be kickstarted by the murder of Ray Caspar, City Manager of a fictional Californian city. From what I can gather, the new, partly invented map that Pizzolatto is drawing will be essential to his new story. As he teased, some months ago, part of the mystery will involve California's transportation systems. This plot will involve a corrupt scheme to link North and South California with a high speed train, all in pursuit of profitable land ownership and lucrative federal grants.
Film Divider claims that although the occult won't be a central element in the story, it will still be included. The four leads, they say, will consist of two men and one woman who come together after working in different areas of state government—the fourth could possibly be the villain.
Again, these are all unverified rumors, so don't use pen when you write about them in your True Detective diaries. But they do seem reasonable and thought out! So, we'll see! Use pencil!
