Steve Harwell, singer of ‘90s grunge band just kidding Smash Mouth, got so furious with members of the audience at a recent Smash Mouth concert in Fort Collins, Colorado that he had to be subdued by security, as shown in what is undoubtedly one of the most bizarre and exciting videos of 2015. The crowd was tossing bread. :(

USA Today reports the band’s set functioned as the finale of Taste of Fort Collins, a three-day food and music festival that claims to be “a family-friendly celebration perfect for Northern Coloradoans’ active lifestyle.” A little boastful, Taste of Fort Collins.

The family-friendly aspect was threatened, however, once the crowd gathered for Smash Mouth began “throwing slices of bread in the air.” A few of the pieces reportedly landed on the stage. Steve Harwell got so mad about the bread, it’s crazy how mad he got!!

“You throw one more piece of shit on the fucking stage,” he can be heard saying in the video, “I’m gonna come find your ass, I’m gonna beat your ass, whoever the fuck you are out there, OK?” He then invites the person throwing bread to come on stage, so he might have the chance to “beat the fuck” out of him or her.

Not a particularly enticing invitation for Mr. or Ms. Bread, if you ask me.

Harwell’s profanity-laden tantrum carries on for a bit while the band behind him—wide-eyed, full of hope—plays the cheerful opening riff to Smash Mouth’s ‘98 hit “All Star” over and over and over. Hartwell then enters the crowd looking for the bread “pussy bitches,” only to be stopped by security.

After a heated chat with the Taste of Fort Collins fuzz, a furious Hartwell retakes the stage to stand silently at the mic while the crowd sings “All Star.” A happy ending.

How did the crowd get the bread, you might be wondering? From USA Today: “Loaves of bread were being given away for free at one of the Taste of Fort Collins vendor booths.”
