Surprisingly, How I Met Your Dad, the sequel to the recently departed hit CBS sitcom How I Met Your Mother that was set to star Greta Gerwig, was not picked up by the network and appears to be dead in the water.

The Nikki Finke-Jay Penske Deadline battle has taken a cinematic turn; Roger Ebert's family is trying to get his thumbs up memorialized in bronze; please stop all liquid intake at least 12 hours before The Wolf of Wall Street; and How I Met Your Mother continues to irk.

I'll reserve my judgments on the How I Met Your Dad spinoff for today, because this How I Met Your Mother coloring book to celebrate their 200th episode is excellent. The best part? The crayon colors, which come in punny shades that die-hard fans will adore, such as "Yellow Umbrella," "Slutty Pumpkin," and "Have Ya Met Red?"

What do you do when you're two of the hottest show creators working in television and your banner show is drawing to a close? Panic that you'll never create anything nearly as brilliant and beloved again? Sit back and rest in your jacuzzi filled not with tepid frothy water, but piles of sweet syndication money? Make another hit show about PhD-chasing nerds and their hot neighbor? All great options! Or you could just go the Carter Bays-Craig Thomas route, and just make the same show all over again.

How I Met Your Mother will be doing something extremely annoying, because hey, last season; Berlin instead of Hungary is the new home of The Grand Budapest Hotel; monthly DirecTV payments are equal to the monthly lease on a mid-size sedan; and you just might be getting the Ramones movie you didn't know you wanted.
