Aaron Sorkin, the creator and writer behind Sports Night, The West Wing, and The Newsroom, says he bonded with Philip Seymour Hoffman over their shared addiction struggles. According to a Time obituary penned by Sorkin, Hoffman always knew death was a possibility.

Though police suspect he died from an overdose, Philip Seymour Hoffman's autopsy results were inconclusive, the New York City medical examiner's office said Wednesday. Spokeswoman Julie Bolcer told the Los Angeles Times, "We are awaiting results and additional studies."

The Oscar-winning actor Philip Seymour Hoffman was found in his Manhattan apartment at 35 Bethune St. in the West Village this morning, according to the New York Police Department.
