Throughout Boulevard, Robin Williams looks stiff, like he’s holding a suitcase in each arm at all times. It’s his way of physically conveying his character’s emotional baggage—Williams plays Nolan, who at 60 can no longer suppress his gay feelings and attempts a relationship with a prostitute named Leo (Roberto Aguire). But, in light of Williams’s suicide last August, it makes you wonder what Williams himself was carrying with him while filming what turned out to be his last onscreen performance (his voice will appear in next year’s sci-fi comedy Absolutely Anything).

I’m sorry to have to tell you this, but your old pal Ashley Tisdale from High School Musical may not be well. In an interview with Health magazine that went live earlier this month but is, due to the rhythms of the universe, just now gaining traction in the tabloids, Ashley can’t stop talking about dead people—specifically famous dead people to whom she has tenuous personal connections; more specifically: Robin Williams and Brittany Murphy.

At tonight's Emmys, Billy Crystal spoke succinctly and movingly about his comedy peer and "the greatest friend you could ever imagine," Robin Williams. "It's very hard to talk about him in the past because he was so present in all of our lives," he said during his three-minute tribute, which preceded a short montage of Williams' television work.

Tonight, the Emmys paid tribute to Robin Williams. Billy Crystal's speech to his late friend was heartfelt and touching, but the the accompanying montage missed an opportunity to pay genuine tribute to Williams at his absolute best—by cutting the profane punchline of one of his most famous bits.
