Adam Sandler's producing partner Jack Giarraputo is going to be stepping down from Happy Madison, the production company he and Sandler started almost 20 years ago, ostensibly due to the fact that he realized he was responsible for putting Adam Sandler movies out into the world.

In a lengthy profile on Giarraputo, Deadline's Mike Fleming pulls a Lena Dunham, and focuses largely on himself rather than the subject at hand, but ultimately gets to the reason behing Giarraputo's departure: that the You Don't Mess With The Zohan producer is leaving at the young age of 46 to spend more time with his family, namely his two young sons. With Sandler, Giarraputo turned Happy Madison into what can easily be counted as one of the most successful star-backed production companies. In addition to producing over 30 films, the company has a successful TV production arm with a deal at Sony, and were executive producers on the CBS sitcom Rules of Engagement, as well as ABC's breakout comedy, The Goldbergs.

Giarraputo will still stay involved with Jiaflix, a startup that helps stream movies in China, as well as some other private equity ventures, but looks like Sandler will be on his own to throw Happy Madison's legendary holiday party and hone his angry frat boy shtick.
