A day after Internet trolls created a fake Twitter account for Vin Diesel to express condolences for co-star Paul Walker's death, The Los Angeles Times reports that Diesel made an appearance at Walker's memorial crash site and spoke to fans Monday night.

Diesel, who starred alongside Walker in five out of the six released Fast and Furious films, used the public address microphone from a sheriff's vehicle to address the gathered crowd, stating:

I just want to say to all of you, if my brother were here right now and he saw all the love that you were bringing him, if he could see for himself that all of you have showed up to show my brother love at this hard time. And the family gets to see all of you showing the love that you've shown Paul, it's going to stay with me forever. I just wanted to say thank you. Thank you for coming down here and showing that angel up in heaven how much you appreciated him.

His original falsified statement appeared Sunday night on Twitter account @OffVinDiesel, and was subsequently ​picked up by news outlets and blogs. The account has been since suspended.
