In a move that should go over well with everyone, Amazon announced on Monday that it has partnered with legendary filmmaker Woody Allen to create a new television series. Allen will write and direct the half-hour series, which will debut on Amazon Prime.

Last year, accusations that Allen sexually assaulted his daughter resurfaced after the comedian received a lifetime achievement award at the Golden Globes.

"Woody Allen is a visionary creator who has made some of the greatest films of all-time, and it's an honor to be working with him on his first television series," Roy Price, Vice President of Amazon Studios, said in a statement.

Allen also released a statement: "I don't know how I got into this. I have no ideas and I'm not sure where to begin. My guess is that Roy Price will regret this."

The series, Allen's first on television, doesn't yet have a title or an announced cast.
