FOX is considering buying the TV rights to Mel Gibson's wildly successful examination of faith as an exercise in torture, The Passion of the Christ.

The deal breaker could be FOX's insistence on making certain editorial changes. They'd either like for Jesus to vote off one of the Apostles at 15 minute intervals, or add a five minute sequence to the end in which the newly-risen, restored Christ is immediately entered into a beauty pageant with other central figures of world religions. They've promised Gibson that Jesus will defeat an obviously out-of-shape Buddha in the million-dollar finals.
