From the Department of Badly Timed Announcements: Today News Corp (parent of Fox) reported a quarterly profit increase of 69 percent, largely powered by strong DVD sales, according to Reuters.

With the talks between the writers and the producers taking a break to review proposals, this didn't come at the best time for the movie studios. How are they going to tell the writers that they can't cut them in on a bigger cut of DVD profits? "Um, yeah, this 69 percent increase? No, not from DVDs. DVD, it's a dying format. You don't want any of that. In a year everyone will be jamming a suppository up their ass and Toy Story 4 will play inside their eyelids. Oh, then how'd we get this money? We killed a hooker for somebody."
