12 Years A Slave Receives A Standing Ovation at The Toronto Film Fest
Fox Searchlight and New Regency's 12 Years A Slave continues to build on its massive buzz from Telluride, receiving a standing ovation Friday at the Toronto International Film Festival.
The Steve McQueen film hails from Brad Pitt's Plan B production company, and stars Chiwetel Ejiofor as the titular slave, a free man who is kidnapped and sold into slavery to Michael Fassbender, playing a cruel plantation owner in the south.
Paul Giamatti, Benedict Cumberbatch, Brad Pitt, Paul Dano, Alfre Woodard and Sarah Paulson also star.
