Today—June 8, 2015—is Kristin Cavallari’s second wedding anniversary with her husband, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler. Aww.

Remember when Jay sent Kristin her engagement ring in the mail?

True story. If you’re not familiar with Kristin’s journey to the altar—which was somehow even longer than her current journey to publish a book—we’ve provided a helpful timeline of events below. The people, the locations, and the drama therein are real.

April 24, 2011: Kristin gets engaged in Cabo

Jay reportedly proposed to Kristin, then 24, over Easter weekend in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. A source told Us Weekly at the time, “She is so excited and completely blindsided.”

Kristin flashed her ring to the (a?) paparazzi a few days later and again at the Something Borrowed premiere the next week.

Foreshadowing: Something Borrowed is a (very psychopathic and psychologically damaging) Kate Hudson rom-com that is in part about a broken engagement.

July 25, 2011: Engagement OVER

Just three months later, Jay confirmed on his Facebook page that he and Kristin had ended their engagement with this sweet message: “Thank you all for the support, but if you talk bad about Kristin I will delete and block you.”

A source—the same source?—told Us Weekly that Kristin was “blindsided” by the news, perhaps in the same way she was “blindsided” by the proposal in the first place. But she put on a brave face for the public: Kristin was spotted partying at The Beverly Lounge with Nicky Hilton and Alessandra Ambrosio that weekend. Yet another source told Us Weekly:

Nicky and Kristin were dancing on the banquet of their VIP table. Kristin was smiling and in great spirits.

July 27, 2011: Kristin’s wedding spread in Life & Style comes out

Urrghh awkward: Before Kristin and Jay broke off their engagement, Kristin posed for a Life & Style photo shoot in which she shopped for and tried on wedding dresses. It came out two days after Jay confirmed the engagement was over.

November 30, 2011: OK engagement back on

Kristin announced on Twitter that she and Jay were engaged—for official—at the end of November.

She later told E! News’ Giuliana Rancic that she got her ring back in the mail. When Rancic asked if Jay proposed again, Kristin explained:

Yeah, kind of. It was so silly. I was in the airport, leaving Chicago. We had just spent however many days together and we were texting and somehow it came up, like, “Oh, shall we get married?”

We’re like, “Yeah, OK.” And then he sent my ring in the mail. So I actually had my ring sitting at home for a couple of weeks before I put it on.

Yeah, OK.

???, ?? 2011: Kristin conceives first child

While we know much about Kristin’s life, there are a precious few things that we don’t. Things that are such guarded secrets that perhaps only Kristin herself knows them, and she’s taking them to the grave.

One such secret is the date on which Kristin’s first child, Camden, was conceived. He was born on August 8, 2012, so we know Kristin likely became pregnant the first week of December—maybe a little later, maybe a little earlier. Maybe a day earlier. Maybe the day Kristin was “likeYeah, OK.’”

August 8, 2012: Camden Jack Cutler is born

Nine months and nine days after her re-engagement announcement, Kristin gave birth to Camden.

June 8, 2013: Wedding day

Kristin and Jay got married at Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville, Tennessee two years ago today. According to People, the reception was at a “nearby historic warehouse” where “guests dined on Southern comfort food and danced to a Motown band.”

Kristin told People that after the wedding, “we were both just like, ‘I can’t believe we did it!’ Especially Jay, because he’s never worn a ring before. It’s going to take some getting used to.”

Honestly, I can’t believe they did it either.
