Angelina Jolie's 50-year-old husband, Brad Pitt, loves guns. He told British radio and television weekly Radio Times that his father "instilled" in him "a profound and deep respect for the weapon" (guns). And apparently at a young age: He bragged to the magazine that he had a shotgun by the time he turned six and was firing handguns by age eight.

"There's a rite of passage where I grew up of inheriting your ancestors' weapons," Pitt told The Independent. "My brother got my dad's. I got my grandfather's shotgun when I was in kindergarten."

He went on to tell the magazine that he believes having a gun keeps his family safe. "It's very strange, but I feel better having a gun," he said. "I don't feel the house is completely safe if I don't have one hidden somewhere. That's my thinking, right or wrong."

Pitt is on a U.K. promotional tour for his new movie that you might have seen a poster of, Fury, where the actor plays an U.S. Army sergeant leading a crew fighting in Nazi Germany. His character goes by the name Wardaddy, and it appears to have made an impression, because the father of six is sharing his love of weaponry with his younglings.

"Maddox knows so much about tanks that when we first started on the movie, I was asking him for information," Pitt told Radio Times.
