Despite erroneous reports to the contrary, Universal will not be scrapping the shot footage of Fast & Furious 7; if you missed Audra Macdonald leave Carrie Underwood in her dust, you'll have another chance; Inbetweeners is getting a sequel; and So You Think You Can Dance royalty got married last night.

Just a few weeks after the passing of Paul Walker, Universal is now having screenwriter Chris Morgan work on rewriting Fast & Furious 7 to gracefully exit Walker's character Brian O'Conner, while still salvaging the portions of the film that have already been shot [THR]

For a moment I wondered if they might retire the franchise out of respect for Paul Walker's memory but then I remembered that if you slap Fast & Furious up on a marquee it churns out a huge profit and people love money more than respecting their dead coworkers and friends.

Why can't they use the technique of late 70s television and simply replace him without a mention? Just some quiet voiceover: "The role of Brian O'Conner will now be played by Justin Timberlake."

Or maybe Justin can play Brian's cousin Charlie. "Brian had to move away ... suddenly."

I can remember being extremely confused watching the reruns when I was younger. Same show, same supporting cast, different leads who looked practically identical in most of the back to back episodes but different names...
