Natalie Portman is at once chill and deeply unchill about her Academy Award.

The Academy Awards: a dull parade of useless beauties giving each other trophies while we all watch, slack-jawed and sweating, from our garbage piles. I hate it—though I do love a party in honor of it. Natalie Portman seems to feel at least close to appropriately about the ceremony and its trinkets, as well. She recently spoke to the Hollywood Reporter about how she doesn’t even know where her dumb old Oscar is:

“I think it’s in the safe or something. I don’t know. I haven’t seen it in a while.”

Who cares. You are right, Natalie Portman: who cares. It’s more embarrassing than anything, and also you’d have to dust it. Throw it in the safe or something.

Also she said this, though:

“I was reading the story of Abraham to my child and talking about, like, not worshipping false idols. And this is literally like gold men. This is literally worshipping gold idols – if you worship it. That’s why it’s not displayed on the wall. It’s a false idol.”

So. That’s why! (If you worship it.)
