The Walking Dead beat Sunday Night Football's Colts versus Texans game last night (even though failing Texans quarterback Matt Schaub was benched!) 8.7 million viewers to 8.1 million. Which proves that the majority of America is still tuning in to see if this is the episode where someone finally just kills Carl.
the walking dead is one of those shows i have been admonished for not liking before (see also: breaking bad, game of thrones). i really liked the comics when i read them, but the show's glacial pace killed me. :/
I'm with you—though I promise, this season is great! I came in at the end of season 2, and I often tell people that the only reason I made it through season 1 and 2 were because I marathoner them in 2 days on Netflix. I actually really love the second season solely for that reason: when you watch it in rapid succession, it's kind of awesome to see how they turned a man from good to lost, but I can imagine over the course of 12 weeks it would be unbearably slow. Season 3 in the prison is also similarly slow the first half, so I'm really not making a great case here…but the character work IS excellent. And luckily unlike GoT, you can have the boring episodes on while you multitask and still keep up, if you're open to giving it another shot!
it is a long barren tv winter for me at the moment (my tv show schedule is bone dry until archer comes back) so i might give it a second chance over my christmas break, when i'll have the time to just shotgun multiple episodes in quick succession. :)
I was at the Texans game, in a Texans jersey, watching the Texans crater.
I wish I had been watching The Walking Dead instead (although, in a way, we were watching a walking dead season).
