Tom DeLonge Enthused About Upcoming Event, Says He Never Quit Blink-182
What a day racked with tragedy and triumph. After a report was published in Rolling Stone on Monday that claimed Blink-182's Tom DeLonge had quit the band to pursue "non-musical endeavors," DeLonge took to his Instagram to say that he never quit the band. #Awkward
The guitarist captioned an Instagram photo of a man looking fly as hell with:
To all the fans, I never quit the band. I actually was on a phone call about a blink 182 event for New York City at the time all these weird press releases started coming in... Apparently those releases were 'sanctioned' from the band. Are we dysfunctional- yes. But, Christ.....#Awkward #BabyBackRibs
So what gives? Are they just staying together for the kids? Or have Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker been caught with their pants down (and jackets off)?
Only an hour prior to DeLonge's Instagram, bassist Mark Hoppus shared this little nugget on Twitter:
blink-182 life. For life.

But neither Hoppus or Barker have added anything else to the statement from this morning, which read:
"We were all set to play this festival and record a new album and Tom kept putting it off without reason," Hoppus and Barker said. "A week before we were scheduled to go in to the studio, we got an email from his manager explaining that he didn't want to participate in any Blink-182 projects indefinitely, but would rather work on his other non-musical endeavors."
Hoppus and Barker continued, "No hard feelings, but the show must go on for our fans."
Alkaline Trio's Matt Skiba, who was reportedly slated to replace DeLonge on forthcoming tour dates, is probably not feeling this.
