Tassler used the example of The Big Bang Theory, a juggernaut born out of pilot season to prove her point. This isn't to say that CBS comedies are the worst (they are, but that's for a different post), but to cling desperately to the old model just because it worked once upon a time seems like just another example of networks refusing to change with the times.
