“You want the truth?” Jack Nicholson, as Col. Nathan R. Jessup, famously asked in A Few Good Men. “You can’t handle the truth!” Classic. Robert De Niro wasn’t in that movie, but I bet you can picture him saying that quote, too. And that’s what this post is about: the truth.

Robert De Niro: actor, producer. World-traveler, I assume. Founder of the Tribeca Film Festival. Consumer of media? I bet. It almost makes you wonder: In his 72 years, is there anything Robert De Niro hasn’t seen? Until reading this Page Six excerpt from an article in Cigar Aficionado’s October issue, my guess would have been “no.”

“Not much, but it depends,” De Niro says of his TV viewing.

Damn. “Not much, but it depends.” Bombshell enough, you’re probably thinking, but Marvin Shanken, editor of Cigar Aficionado, seared De Niro on the specifics:

Shanken: “Did you ever watch [redacted]? ”

De Niro: “No.”
