This may just be the sweetest publicity stunt of all time. ABC announced on Good Morning America that it will pay for all marriage licenses and City Hall wedding costs for couples getting married in New York City on Monday.

The network is pulling the stunt to promote Modern Family's two-episode season finale, which will focus on Mitch and Cam's wedding and all the drama that will go along with it. The actors who play the couple, Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Eric Stonestreet, made the announcement during a segment to preview the episode. Yeah, the television wedding looks fun—but even the actors know that the real excitement is in all those free weddings couples will be surprised with today.

The first episode of the finale airs Wednesday at 9:00 p.m on ABC. The second will air a week later.
