Two dying brands debuted their heavily managed and obsessively detailed latest projects on Cosmopolitan.com today: Cosmopolitan magazine rolled out its newest issue, featuring Hilary Duff on the cover; and Hilary Duff, in the pages of Cosmopolitan, rolled out her divorce.

Duff filed for divorce from her husband of nearly five years, former NHL player Mike Comrie, 11 days ago. But she's had a lot of preparation. Quotes from the magazine's interview—which most likely took place weeks ago (Cosmo wouldn't tell us when)—have her looking forward to life "post-divorce":

On her view of marriage, post-divorce: "I don't want to sound bitter because I'm definitely not, but I don't know if people are meant to be together forever. Things happen over a long relationship that you can't always fight. A marriage of 20 years, the accomplishment of that must feel really great, but there are also huge sacrifices. I just always want to fight for happiness."

The full cover story isn't yet available online, but the portion Cosmo posted today paints a picture of a woman who is surprisingly chill about something that happened a week and a half ago. Duff says she's "lucky for the person [Comrie] is and I am, and how we decided to handle this."

On her marriage and divorce with Mike Comrie, with whom she shares a son, Luca: "Mike and I were very in love when we met. We both really wanted to get married. I'd been working since the age of 11 or 12, so making that choice at a young age seemed right for me. Maybe it wasn't, but we spent the majority of our time together really happy. It wasn't working well enough to stay together, but there was still a lot of love involved. It was just a slow set-in of us not being the match that we used to be. I'm lucky for the person he is and I am, and how we decided to handle this."

(She also tells Cosmo she has a new crush—Sons of Anarchy star Charlie Hunnam.)

Duff has a child star's talent for stage management. One day before she filed for divorce, the Daily Mail published an exclusive interview with a server at a Beverly Hills steakhouse who recounted Comrie's recent "wild night out" at the restaurant—he allegedly hit on a waitress and offered another woman money for sex. Now, a "source close to Duff" tells Us Weekly that Comrie's wild night was the final straw, and although Duff had hopes for reconciliation, Comrie "totally blew it."

And now she's smiling on the cover of Cosmo next to the coverline, "Hilary Duff is Back and Kicking Ass."

That said—love you Hils, you look great!
