The Directors Guild of America announced its TV nominations Thursday and Bryan Cranston continues to best everyone else in Hollywood. Cranston received two directorial nominations, one for an episode of Breaking Bad and another for Modern Family.

The BAFTA nominations were announced early Wednesday and Gravity leads the pack with 12 nominations, followed by 12 Years a Slave and American Hustle with 10 each. The nominees for best picture are 12 Years a Slave, American Hustle, Captain Phillips, Gravity, and Philomena.

The Writers Guild of America announced on Friday the film nominees for the 2014 WGA Awards. The scripts nominated for original screenplay are American Hustle, Blue Jasmine, Dallas Buyers Club, Her, and Nebraska. Check out the complete list of nominees here.

The new TV spot for Paramount's Nebraska reminds old white people that it's ok to get old because look at these movie stars! They're old too. The trailer, directed to "the people who dare to dream," highlights the ages of the film's actors as well as their time spent working in the industry. It would be nice to applaud Paramount for working against the ageist norms set in Hollywood, but let's be real: it's more likely that the studio hopes Academy voters will see the spot and think, "Man, these are some hardworking old white people just like me."
