Beejoli Shah · 11/15/13 09:30PM

What do you do when you're two of the hottest show creators working in television and your banner show is drawing to a close? Panic that you'll never create anything nearly as brilliant and beloved again? Sit back and rest in your jacuzzi filled not with tepid frothy water, but piles of sweet syndication money? Make another hit show about PhD-chasing nerds and their hot neighbor? All great options! Or you could just go the Carter Bays-Craig Thomas route, and just make the same show all over again.

There's still no spinoff for The Heat, but it's least interesting characters are getting a spinoff. Jamie Denbo and Jessica Chaffin, who played trashy girlfriends Beth and Gina to Melissa McCarthy's brothers in the film are getting their own movie. Hollywood! It's that easy.

Anchorman 2 Has Overdone It With Dumb Marketing Promotions

Beejoli Shah · 11/15/13 02:30PM

A decade feels like an eternity in the movie franchise marketplace, but for a recent classic like Anchorman, reinvigorating the public's interest should be no problem at all. So why has Paramount overloaded its banner comedy of the year with an unhealthy dose of marketing partnerships?

Terrence Howard Is Really Not Happy With Robert Downey Jr.

Beejoli Shah · 11/15/13 01:04PM

Terrence Howard showed up on the wacky funhouse that exists only in Andy Cohen's mind, and in true Howard fashion, managed to turn what was a playful interview with the lovely Nia Long into a foreshadowing of doom.

Beejoli Shah · 11/15/13 12:06PM

Drugs! Cheating! Scandal! The new Rob Ford talk show will fit quite nicely into the reality TV ecosystem; Harry Potter is bringing a little of his magic stateside; someone finally remembered to check with Julie Andrews about The Sound of Music remake; and Chris Hardwick continues to be everywhere, on every network.

Spike Lee Is Too Cheap To Care About The Elderly People He Endangered

Beejoli Shah · 11/14/13 09:13PM

Mistakes happen. In the age of the internet, these mistakes can live on a lot longer than normal, but regardless, the proper way to deal with them is almost always a gracious apology, a swift repair or repayment caused by damages, and a healthy dose of contrition. That's the best way. Then there's the Spike Lee way.

Another dispatch from the Andy Kaufman hoax patrol: his brother Michael told CNN's Jake Tapper that he was also the victim of Alexandra Tatarsky's ruse, and that because the girl knew "intimate details" about the brothers' rituals, he had been fooled.

John Oliver Will Not Take Over The Daily Show, Going To HBO Instead

Beejoli Shah · 11/14/13 04:21PM

After John Oliver spent eight weeks this summer filling in for The Daily Show host Jon Stewart who was off filming his directorial debut Rosewater (and not living out a live action Lord of the Rings roleplay, as Oliver would have had you believe), many were convinced that those 32 episodes were a mark that he'd soon be taking over Stewart's seat. HBO moved quickly and announced today that Oliver would be hosting a weekly comedy talk show for their network, set to premiere next year.

Beejoli Shah · 11/14/13 11:56AM

Even from beyond the grave, Andy Kaufman can pull off hoaxes: The young woman who earlier this week claimed to be famed (and deceased) comedian Andy Kaufman's 24-year-old daughter is a 23-year old New York-based actress named Alexandra Tatarsky—whose father is a doctor, not a comic visionary.

Is Andy Kaufman Still Alive?

Beejoli Shah · 11/13/13 01:27PM

Rumors of a faked death have been just as much a part of Andy Kaufman's legacy as watching him turn from Foreign Man to Elvis, but if what played out at this week's Andy Kaufman Awards in New York City are actually true, the comedic genius may have pulled off his biggest hoax of all: not just faking his own death, but secretly spending the last 29 years raising a family.

Breakdowns: Ryan Seacrest Is Ruining Childrens Lives On Nickelodeon

Beejoli Shah · 11/13/13 11:51AM

Ryan Seacrest wants kids to be just like him: no athletic ability, but a keen understanding of pop culture; Angelina Jolie's cheekbones are intended to terrify you; NBC relies on bribery to coax their actors into working; and your S&M fantasies just got pushed back six months by Universal.

Beejoli Shah · 11/12/13 03:47PM

Adam Sandler's producing partner Jack Giarraputo is going to be stepping down from Happy Madison, the production company he and Sandler started almost 20 years ago, ostensibly due to the fact that he realized he was responsible for putting Adam Sandler movies out into the world.

Justin Timberlake Is Very Tired Of Being Bullied By The Media

Beejoli Shah · 11/12/13 03:08PM

In an emotionally raw, constantly on the verge of tears interview, the Robin to Jimmy Fallon's Batman sat down with GQ this month for their annual "Man of the Year" issue, to talk about his title, Hashtag Of The Year, and show fans the real Justin Timberlake: a sensitive guy who really, really hates being picked on.

Spike Lee Is Being Sued by the Couple Whose Address He Tweeted

Beejoli Shah · 11/12/13 02:03PM

Spike Lee's Twitter account may be worth almost $450,000, but it's just one tweet in particular that may end up costing him. Back in March, angered over the Trayvon Martin shooting, Lee tweeted "EVERYBODY REPOST THIS George W. Zimmerman" and then what he thought was Zimmerman's address. In reality, it was the address of elderly couple Elaine and David McClain, who have no ties to Zimmerman or Martin.

Breakdowns: Kate Upton's Boobs May Star In The New Entourage Movie

Beejoli Shah · 11/12/13 12:39PM

The Entourage movie might cast Kate Upton, because, obviously; The Wahlberg brothers are turning to reality television, because it worked out so well for Clint Eastwood; Alec Baldwin is not a good news show host; and Brad Pitt's Fury has invoked that reaction from the Brits.
