Watch Matt Damon and Friends Read Mean Tweets About Themselves
As the late night world said goodbye to Jay Leno Thursday night, Jimmy Kimmel ignored the fuss and did what Jimmy Kimmel does best: get celebrities, especially Matt Damon, to make fun of themselves.
On his first return to the show since taking over an episode last year and renaming it Jimmy Kimmel Sucks!, Damon was allowed on the set, though Kimmel forced him to remain in a back room while the rest of The Monuments Men cast took to the stage and made Damon jokes.
When he was granted permission to join the cast for the second half of the interview, Damon was given a small chair on the margins of the group. The Damon/Kimmel fake feud might be getting old, but it still manages to be endearing and funny.
But the best part of Thursday night's show was Kimmel's star-packed "Mean Tweets" segment, a sketch where celebrities read the worst things being written about them on Twitter. The cast of The Monuments Men, Matt Damon, Bill Murray, John Goodman, George Clooney, Bob Balaban, and Cate Blanchett, were joined by other A-listers like Jon Hamm and Tom Hanks in this fantastic edition of "Mean Tweets."
Now I'm not the biggest late night show person, as I possess both a discerning sense of humor and a predilection for early bedtime, but watching Jennifer Garner try to say "twat" without laughing will never ever not be funny.
